This Privacy Notice shows how Listen Well Scotland will use personal information provided to us. Personal information includes any information that identifies you personally, such as your name, email address, postal address, or telephone number.

Listen Well Scotland recognises the importance of your privacy and personal information and we have set out here how we use, protect and disclose this information. The Executive Co-ordinator is the data controller for Listen Well Scotland, and contact details are given below.

The information provided to us by you is used:

  • in relation to participation in our training courses, practice and development events, and meetings of the Board and/or Members;

  • for administration of the Register of Trustees and Register of Members (including Friends);

  • to maintain records of recruitment and training of volunteers, admission to registers of Registered Listeners, Trainers and Supervisors; and maintenance on such registers;

  • to provide you with information about news, events, training courses and other initiatives;

  • to manage our employees;

  • to maintain our accounts and records, including the processing of Gift Aid applications;

  • to further our charitable aims, for example through fundraising activities;

  • to fulfill contractual or other legal obligations.

Disclosure of personal information

Listen Well Scotland will only share your personal information when it is required for the purposes set out above. We will not share your information with any third party outwith Listen Well Scotland without your consent unless obliged or permitted to do so by law.

Basis for Listen Well Scotland processing personal information

We process your information in pursuance of our legitimate charitable activities as a listening training organisation and provider of trained listeners who are registered with us and supervised.

How we store your personal information and protect it

We try to ensure that the personal data we hold is accurate and stored in a secure and confidential way. We will keep the data provided as long as you continue to have regular contact with us, and in the case of Trustees or Members as long as required by OSCR’s conditions for a SCIO.

Requesting a copy of your personal information, corrections, and withdrawal of consent

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you by contacting us. Please let us know if any amendment or correction is required. If we are processing data on the basis of your explicit consent, you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
